As the schools and colleges resume in India, the demand for laptops sees a spike. The general budget for any student going to buy a laptop is under Rs. 50,000. So, now that the schools and colleges have reopened, here are the top 10 laptops under Rs. 50,000 mark, that you can consider buying...

This price bracket which undercuts the Rs. 50,000 mark is a very competitive one in the Indian market. If you have a clear idea as to which specifications you want in a laptop, you will get the exact same combination of specifications in at least 2 different brands with a small difference in the price to be paid.

The list below consists of 10 laptops you can consider if you are out in the market looking for a perfect machine under Rs. 50,000.

#10. HP 15q ds0058TU & HP 15q ds0059TU

The HP 15q ds0058TU is for those who won't do heavy tasks like gaming, video editing or animation. This machine is for lighter usage, which includes normal usage of apps like the MS Office, or normal web browsing and media consumption. With a 15.6 inch screen, the laptop runs on 8th Generation Intel i3 processor and has Microsoft Office 2019 and Windows 10 preinstalled. The laptop also offers 1TB storage and 4GB DDR4 RAM. In terms of graphics, it includes the Intel UHD 620 graphics. With all this combined, the laptop's price is well below Rs. 40,000. It seems to be a very nice package overall.

Spend a bit more and you will get the HP 15q ds0059TU. The only difference between this and the one above is that this one has 8GB of RAM. These extra 4 GB will help make the overall everyday experience of operating the laptop smoother and will help you run multiple applications without stutters. Other than this, the entire laptop is exactly like the ds0058TU.

Note: Most i3 laptops do support heavy tasks like Video editing. However, it is not advisable as those tasks might lead to load on the processor and graphics and eventually decrease the health of the laptop.

#9. Dell Inspiron 3593

The Dell Inspiron 3593 is another budget-oriented laptop with the 10th Generation Intel i3 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz. Combine this with 4GB DDR4 RAM and 1TB of storage and that will just start justifying its price tag. Add to this the preinstalled Windows 10 and MS Office 2019 and then you will know why you are paying what you are paying. In the Graphics department, it carries the normal Intel HD Graphics. it weighs around 2kgs and comes with a CD- drive as well for those who still use it.

Overall, it seems to be a good package from Dell.

#8. HP 15q ds0049TU

Back to HP and this time, let's get that speed a notch higher in terms of everyday usage. With the same 8th Generation Intel i3 processor running the show coupled with 8GB of RAM, the HDD is replaced by an SSD. With a 256 GB Solid State Drive (SSD) to store all your files, this laptop will make your experience just a bit more seamless and faster. It is a much better option as compared to HDD and at the price at which this laptop is available, a device with an SSD is hard to find. The rest of the specs remain the same, as this laptop too comes with Windows 10 and MS Office preinstalled.

#7. Lenovo Ideapad Slim 3i

This laptop from Lenovo is one with an Intel i5 processor, which is much faster compared to the previous i3 laptops. This is the latest 10th generation of i5, coupled with 8GB of RAM and 1TB of HDD. This laptop has a Full HD display which is 15.6 inches long. It is also a comparatively light laptop weighing below 2 kgs.

This laptop too has MS Office 2019 and lifetime support of Windows 10. The speakers on this laptop are also good as they come with Dolby Audio support.

#6. Mi Notebook 14

Mi launched the Mi Notebook 14 a couple of months back, and it a good laptop to be honest. One of its USPs is that it weighs just 1.5kgs. The features include the 10th Generation Intel i5 processor with 8GB of RAM. Instead of an HDD, Mi has put in a 256 GB SSD in this device. This one too comes with Windows 10 preinstalled. Other details include a strong metal body, 14-inch anti-glare screen and Free webcam which is detachable.

#5. Asus Vivobook 14

The Asus Vivobook 14 is the latest vivobook and comes with the latest features. It is powered by the 10th Generation Intel Core i5 processor, with 8GB of RAM and 1TB of HDD storage. It also comes with a 14-inch FHD screen. It is a lightweight laptop weighing just around 1.6kgs.

Apart from this, there is lifetime support of Windows 10 and it comes with Intel Integrated graphics. There are empty slots given for storage expansion via an HDD or even an SSD.

#4. ASUS ZenBook UX430UA-GV573T

This laptop of Asus from 2019 comes with the 8th Generation Intel i5 processor. It too has 8GB of RAM. However, this time, it is a 256 SSD instead of the normal HDD. With Windows 10 preinstalled with lifetime validity, it does miss out on MS Office. The graphics are the same Intel integrated graphics.

However, the plus point here is the mobility. The laptop is as light as 1.3kgs. This weight is despite the use of a metal chassis, which is commendable.

#3. Acer Aspire 3

If Acer is a company of choice for you, then this is the laptop which you could pick. It comes with the latest 10th Generation i5 processor, 8GB of RAM, 1TB storage and Intel Integrated graphics. The screen size here is 15.6 inch with Full HD resolution.

However, at 1.9 kg, this is definitely not one of the lighter laptops available today.

#2. HP 15s du2078TU

Towards the very end of this budget range, you will find this laptop by HP. This one too has the same specs, like the 10th generation Intel i5 processor, 8GB of RAM, MS Office 2019 and Windows 10. It carries a 15.6-inch backlit screen with Full HD resolution.

The major difference, however, which results in this bump in price is the 512 GB SSD for storing your data. This SSD will give you that increase in speed compared to all laptops listed so far. If you can stretch your budget till here, you must pick one of these up.

#1. ASUS VivoBook 14 X409JA-EK591T

This is another laptop which is at the very end of the price bracket. This one too, much like the HP has the 10th Generation Intel i5 processor, with 8GB of RAM and 512 GB of SSD. This one too has Windows 10 preinstalled. However, it misses out on the 15.6-inch screen as it only sports a 14-inch screen. It also misses out on the MS Office.

The graphics are the same Intel integrated graphics. The things that the Asus has over HP is the wight advantage where the Asus weighs 1.6 kgs compared to HP's 1.75kgs. And surprisingly, this difference is despite the metal build on Asus compared to the plastic on HP.
