Every avid follower of Marathi Cinema has heard the name- SACHIN PILGAONKAR. He is the living example to disapprove the statement 'Jack of all trades and Master of None!' because he indeed is Jack of every trade and Master of them All! such is his versatility. We've known him for his flawless acting, superb dancing skills, melodious voice and a successful producer. But he has also directed some masterpieces and here are some of his best works as a Director:
1) Navri Mile Navryala (1984)
This movie is the first movie directed by Sachin that tasted success in the year 1984. The movie had two couples played by Sachin and Supriya Pilgaonkar & Ashok and Nivedita Saraf, who later went on to become real-life couples therefore the chemistry between them was undoubtedly amazing. It was a comedy drama. The story talked about the social topic of class difference but in a humorous way and therefore it was a super hit. The audience grew fond of the story with the humorous touch , delivery of the actors and their onscreen chemistry and ofcourse the evergreen songs! This movie was the stepping stone of success as a Director for Mr. Sachin Pilgaonkar.

2) Majha Pati Karodpati (1988)
After the success of Navri Mile Navryala, Sachin directed another movie with a great storyline- Majha Pati Karodpati. This, too, was a comedy drama. The movie is based on a girl who values money more than love but soon faces the appropriate consequences of her actions. Soon after their first film together, Sachin and Supriya Pilgaonkar got married and audience loved to see more of their on screen chemistry! This movie flourished in the box office because of various reasons. The characters and appropriate supporting cast was one of them. Ashok Saraf, Nilu Phule, Manchindra Kambli, Kishori Shahane, Shubha Khote were the supporting cast and with everyone's comic timing they literally put life in their characters.

3) Ashi Hi Banwa Banwi (1988)
Ashi Hi Banwa Banwi is said to be one of the best Comedy classics in the history of Marathi Cinema. The casting of comedy kings Sachin Pilgaonkar, Ashok Saraf, Laxmikant Berde and Siddharth Ray was appropriate and on point. This comedy of errors was highly appreciated for number of reasons like its comic timings, punchlines, songs and ofcourse the acting of the three main faces of Marathi Cinema- Sachin, Ashok Saraf and Laxmikant. This movie is said to be a cult classic in Marathi Cinema industry. People of every age can enjoy this movie. Even in 2020, even after so many good comedy Marathi movies are made, we still like to go back and watch Ashi Hi Banwa Banwi and not get tired of it. This legendary piece of art is one of the best works of Sachin Pilgaonkar.

4) Gammat Jammat (1987)
Gammat Jammat is again a movie in the comedy genre Directed by Sachin Pilgaonkar. The movie along with superb storyline and direction is known for its superhit songs. Evergreen and superhit songs like 'Ashwini Ye Na', 'Choricha Mamla', 'Me Aale Nighaale' etc are from this movie. The movie is a comedy of errors wherein the kidnapped person dominates her kidnappers and later everything ends well as usual. Legendary singer-actor Kishore Kumar has sung the famous song- 'Ashwini Ye Na'. This movie with a never thought of and unique storyline with superb casting was a huge blockbuster then.

5)Navra Majha Navasacha (2005)
Navra Majha Navsacha is a comedy Marathi movie Directed and Produced by Sachin Pilgaonkar. The movie portrays the journey of a childless couple from Mumbai to Ganpatipule to fulfill their vow. This new age comedy movie again gave a platform to showcase Sachin & Supriya's chemistry and Ashok Saraf's comic timing. The cameos by Reema Lagoo, Sonu Nigam, Johny Lever and Kishori Shahane were like a cherry on top. The film was a slapstick comedy with absolutely no subtlety in jokes but that is exactly what was appreciated by the audience. The film also had a suspense which was gripping throughout the film and intrigued the audience. This movie directed by Sachin Pilgaonkar was another successful super hits at the box office!
