5 Worst Fashion Trends To Exist
|By- Team Take Two|
Fashion is a part of everyone's life. Trends are fascinating. The designer creates something for the world to see, the celebrity wears it and the market is flooded with demand to wear the same outfit that our favorite celebrity wore. Rip-offs are made, modifications happen and people flood Instagram with their 'trendy style'. The question very few people ask is that, Is it wise to just follow the trends and never have a voice of your own style? What suits your body or what does not isn't important?
We asked many young students with a distinct voice, who did not fall under this trap and gave us the 5 Worst Fashion Trends To Exist that people, especially women, should be vary of:
1. Dramatic Ruffle Sleeves:
I have always believed that, "Fashion is not everyone's cup of tea". While some of the Bollywood actresses never fail to disappoint us with their fashion choices, they sometimes take the wrong route and give fashion police an opportunity to complain. According to me, in the recent times the worst fashion trend which is going on all around Bollywood is "Dramatic Ruffle Sleeves Trend". Talking of which, Deepika Padukone has disappointed me big time and I wonder why her stylist chose those outfits in first place. I just find those huge ruffle sleeves so unflattering. Just imagine these beautiful gowns without those ugly looking sleeves. Wouldn't they looked like a dream! - Fizza Ratlamwala, Student/Food Blogger.
2. Leather Pants:
Fashion Industry is all about new fashion trends and looking gorgeous. But along with great fashionable look, comes comfort and I don't find that in Leather Pants. They are very trendy but, not everyone can slay it and it's not at all dependent on the body sizes. Leather is a sticky and sweaty material that can be only worn in winters, in India we don't have a climate suitable for these pants. So investing in leather pants in a country like India is not feasible. - Vrishti Purohit, Student/Beauty Blogger.
3. Extremely Ripped Jeans:
Ripped jeans which are extremely ripped look like a fashion disaster. This style totally rules out the concept of jeans. Shorts could be a better option instead of such jeans. These are usually loose so when you walk, the inner portions of the jeans can clearly be seen which looks shabby and inexpensive. So many rugs that it can actually be used as a rug - Yukti Somni, Media Student.
4. Low-Waist Denims:
The idea of a non elastic band sitting right at your pelvic bones makes my body quiver yet somehow it has been decades since this trend was introduced and we do not seem in a hurry to get rid of it. The low waist jeans or the low rise jeans was the idea of masochist fashion back in 2000s and slowly started to penetrate the feminine sector as well. From men wearing metallic chains hanging down these loose pants to women wearing cute funky crop tops showing off their slender bellies and mid-rifs, the low rise jeans were extremely versatile and were no more just a commodity of the runway fashionistas. The question is why would one prefer jeans that hug your bones and sit at your hip over a pair of high-waisted jeans that are not only more comfortable but also cover more area? The answer, unfortunately, isn't available - Sanika Ghag, Aspiring Journalist.
5. Airport Looks:
The worst 'fashion' trend has been the airport looks for me. You want to be comfortable while travelling. Comfort to different people means different things. So it is highly useless to judge people based on what they wear at an airport! This can be the most leisure activity one can do. Imagine having a separate wardrobe full of clothes that are wearable at an airport! Who turns an airport into a runway? Clearly, the 'Airport Looks' need to take off from the world - Dhruv Chhabra, Student.
Clearly, these are just opinions. If you have any reason to like any of these trends, do hit us up with your reasons. Fashion is subjective and so is Take Two.
