Is it enough to say that letting campaigns known to people is the half work done? I don’t think so. Even if there are numerous messages to reach the bulk through any mediums, there are bunch of species who actually do not pay heed to such campaigns and then raise conclusions as if are they really beneficial?

Let’s say I know about a very evergreen campaign which actually led many people knowing the importance of educating a girl child called “BETI BACHAO, BETI PADHAO” but what’s the use of this slogan if things aren’t right on the actual level?

In a recent report of United Nations Population Fund (UNPF), missing female is liable for nurturing unstable India of 2055 resulting marriage squeeze. India would be facing a freak out situation where prospective grooms outnumber prospective brides prominently known as marriage squeeze. In short, a country where marriage is nearly universal, men may need to quit marriage as they might not find a spouse. For e.g, there would be 116 boys born for only 100 girls, then what would the rest 16 boys do?

Marriage Squeeze is a consequence of missing females. So what are missing females? Major activity add up to this stake is excessive female mortality rate. Right after the news of girl child who is about to be born is made to rest in peace by abortion or by dumping it in a trash bag after her existence on earth. Son preference culture has prevailed in India and still continues to accelerate as 1 in 3 girls due to sex biased selection approach powers up the death toll irrespective of pre and post natal birth. Advent of technology had very well played the role for female foeticide undoubtedly.

A country where girl child is entitled to be lakshmi, worshipped as a goddess of wealth, ironically accounts for 46 million of world’s 143 million “missing females”, what a wonderful devotion, isn’t it? Tip of the iceberg, between 2013 and 2017, about 4 lakh plus girls were missing at birth in India. Perhaps, the rate of such females has been doubled rather than declining over the 50 years. It is predicted that history will repeat itself by encouraging child marriages as no other option would be left for men in 2055 creating huge havoc in demographical imbalance in near future.

Whereas the current situation already reflects 33,000 girls forced to marriage under the age of 18. The report claimed, 51% young women with no education, 47% with primary education where marriaged by the age of 18, while only 29% with secondary education and 4% with post secondary education were married before 18.

Not just these, 19 harmful practices like breast ironing, virginity testing, female genital mutilation, child marriage, etc are also considered as human right violations and are breathing in this obnoxious society. Female genital mutilation (FGM) involves the partial or total removal of external female genitalia or organs for non medical reasons. It is not just practiced in Africa, Asia, Middle East but in the heart of Mumbai too. It is mostly carried out on young girls infancy and age 15. At present, it might account for 4.1 million girls subjected towards this cruel execution.

It entertains an idea of how can we say that these campaigns are being enforced on ground zero effectively when we ourselves are not getting involved to decompose it. Individuals need to think before their actions could cost to the society they live in. We can’t let our future be on risk for forthcoming generations to come.

How would India look like if it’s not stopped now? Are we not supposed to at least pay heed and actually let humankind contemplate? Why don’t we make such worthy campaigns gain momentum? What kind of literate person would you be looked upon if you can’t play the role even after knowing burning issues around you? Ever given a thought?

Just wonder,

IF THERE IS NO FEMALE, DO YOU THINK THIS EARTH WILL PREVAIL?
