"They say a person needs just three things to be truly happy in this world: someone to love, something to do, and something to hope for."

And who can be a better role model than the only man who falls from the sky in a beam of light onto a deserted street in London while a choir in the background sings, “Ecce homo qui est faba” (Behold the man who is a bean).

Well, Mr. Bean is quite the perfect role model you can learn many life lessons from. Through the years, both the original and animated Mr. Bean series not only entertained us with its quick-witted scenes in each episode, but also defined our childhood and taught us many meaningful lessons of life, whether it was falling asleep during the sermon at church or taking himself to the swimming pool even though he was afraid of heights.

Have you ever imagined driving your car while sitting on a chair tied to the roof of the car? Obviously not! Well, not everyone can be a genius like him. The character of Mr. Bean was influenced by Jacques Tati’s Monsieur Hulot – the infamous French silent comedy star. Mr. Bean has always had the right philosophy in life: live simple, love simple and be happy.

The character that was immortalised by British actor Rowan Atkinson, who brought to our screens a humorous display with no extra flash and bang and no words – just a man going about in his simple life but ending his day with a huge smile and zero worries. It is a classic example that shows humor doesn't need to be categorised by generations, gender, boundaries, or nationalities to be relevant.

Mr. Bean is that character who doesn't care who you are and what your background is; it is almost impossible not to laugh or even be a tad amused by this unique character, and that’s what makes him phenomenal. A small house and a simplistic way of living is enough for you to be the happiest man in the world, at least in your own eyes, and probably that’s what matters, isn’t it? He is awesome because he doesn’t care about being weird in society.

He really doesn't speak much since his actions and facial expressions speak for him. However, if you are asking what my favorite dialogue would be, then it is the most famous- “Look Teddy!” He gets happy whenever he says that, whether it's to give Teddy new eyes or ask how many fingers he's holding up. It's adorable that Bean has a friend who could never disagree with him. Mr. Bean and Teddy’s relationship proves to us that even the weirdest of pairs can create a very strong bond and friendships sometimes come in the unlikeliest forms.

Well, here are some life hacks one could learn from Mr. Bean’s character: -

#1 Learn To Find Happiness Within Yourself

Learn to find happiness within yourself because in your darkest times, even your shadow disappears. Be happy without anyone. Just try to be dependent on yourself to find happiness. Be happy with what you have. We should be more happy and less materialistic. He had that small car but he is happy enough. He doesn't care about having a better and luxurious vehicle and taught each one of us to be responsible for our own happiness.

#2 Be yourself! You're perfect the way you are

A wise man once said, "When people start saying you are kinda mad, that's how you know that you are on the right track unless you're really high and just shouting out Newton’s laws in public." You have got to be yourself because you are a limited edition. Now being yourself means loving yourself and improving yourself everyday. Mr.Bean was weird in his own way. Mr. Bean likes to cheer up people. He was humorous. After all,  humor helps improve your creativity, relationships and career. When used wisely and, in a timely way, humor can be the best lubricant in any sticky situation.

#3 Find Delight In The Small Things

Remember the time when Mr Bean sat on a park bench and rejoiced as he prepared his midday meal, especially when he removed the goldfish for his sandwich? He gave a wonderful life lesson: if anything makes you happy, just do it! It’s useless to think about what others might think about you. As long as you are happy, you are doing well emotionally.

#4 Stop Comparing Yourself

Ah! The secret to the first point. Stop comparing because life is too short for that. Comparing ourselves with others will only take your eyes off from what we have been blessed with. Remember that one time when Mr. Bean was waiting for the traffic light to turn green and a guy with an expensive car stops his car near Mr.Bean’s? Instead of imagining if he had the same car and getting envious, he gets ready to race it. He got the guts to go all guns blazing. Some problems are not inevitable. It's always up to you what you choose to do, to sit and cry or choose to face and solve the problems.

#5 Talk Less. Observe More

He taught us that we can all make a life with little less noise and observe more to gain. Baseless talk is cheap. Aside from his incoherent mumblings, Mr. Bean never actually spoke, yet Rowan Atkinson managed to convey every emotion and situation without the need for words. He observes and is damn curious about the things around him and that is the secret to talk less as much as possible. Because Sometimes Harsh talks may arise but if you talk less you will be safe enough. This Is ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT LIFE HACKS !! ;)

#6 Live The Moment

Mr. Bean lived every moment of his life to its fullest. What does that mean? Does that mean he was never sad? No, it means when he was sad, he was sad to some extent and when he was happy, he was as happy as he could be. This is what life is all about. He travelled and experienced new places wherever he went. He lived every moment with 100% zeal. To define this point I can't find a more accurate and appropriate quote than this-

"It may not be the party you expected but while you are there, dance like no one's watching."

There is no point in doing what we do if we don’t let go and give our very best. And although Mr. Bean has his own turmoil, he’s taught us all some vital lessons in life. The series is legendary and the concepts he shows are simple and yet hilarious.

Just make other people around you laugh always and make funny faces while taking a picture of yourself out there. It is not like you are going to use a picture of your vacation on your LinkedIn profile. Are you?
